Department Office

The Department Office processes all student and departmental matters. It is located on the groundfloor of the University's Administration Building . The Office operates from 7:00 to 14:30 and is open to students on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 11:00 to 13:00 . During enrolment and course selection periods opening times may vary.

Reading Room

The Reading Room - Physics Department Library is located on the 3 rd floor of F2 Building. Opening times vary. The largest part of book collections (circa 15000 titles) as well as the entire collection of Periodicals (80 titles) have been moved to the 1 st and 2 nd floors of the University of Ioannina Central Library and are borrowable. Books and Periodicals cover physics-oriented research interests including full coverage of the departmental courses' bibliographical needs. There are also publications on the history and philosophy of science, on science education, on scientific notions popularized. The Reading Room - Physics Department Library offers access to bibliographical databases and electronic versions of scientific periodicals through the system of the University of Ioannina Central Library . Access is also available to extended bibliographical searches and offprint ordering through the National Network of Libraries.

In the premises of the Reading Room - Physics Department Library students can consult the expanding collection of remaining books. There are also photocopiers and two computer clusters of a total of 20 Internet-connected computers to be used by students for accomplishing course requirements. A projection room, seminar rooms and departmental meeting rooms are situated nearby.

Computer Laboratories

Two modern Computer Laboratories hosted 60 computers in total are fully functional in the Physics Department. Computers use Windows and Linux operating systems. Computer related courses are taught here. The Labs are open at specific times on a daily basis for students' needs and practical sessions.
